Mark is in the submerged library, floating with his tail curled around the rungs of a stepladder and an open encyclopaedia of marine life held close to his face. He proceeds steadily through his chosen entry, despite the difficulties caused by running ink and eyes that have turned slightly fishy. Unable to take notes, he murmurs softly himself as ( Read more... )

Hey! You're a seahorse. That's awesome.

He looks up, finds the library camera that's been watching him with another little oh, then retrieves his comm unit from the shelf behind him.

"It's...I'm a little slow."

Among other things.

"What about you?"

I glow. And change colors.

Mark untangles himself from the ladder and scoots out of the way, favoring his arms over his motoring dorsal fin.

He's aware that he's not the most mobile fish-hybrid the event has produced, and it's made him a little bit jumpy, never mind his latest discovery.

[ The fact that Lamb has been Ursula-ified and is presently half giant black octopus has surprisingly little to do with her unsociable mood at the moment.

She was hoping the library (an underwater library with books in a condition that would surely be useless for research) would be deserted, but as she swoops down to the shelves she spots something moving in the corner of her eyes. ]

Is somebody--

...Mark?

He peers around the bookcase he's hidden behind.

"Oh. Doctor Lamb."

He glides into the open, feeling silly for having panicked.

"You...startled me."

"Some kind of eel?"

He leafs through his book, trying not to tear the sodden pages. He's happy to have a distraction from the possibility of mansion-induced mer-pregnancy.

"I could look it up for you."

Because he's not leaving the library any time soon.

In the meanwhile, Mark pulls a few extra books on marine life and tucks them under his arm. It's a bit cumbersome, but the trip between the library tables and the shelves takes his new body too long for his taste.
