Lamb's presence is not exactly welcome, and let's not even discuss her assistance. But he also doesn't particularly want her reading anything of his, so he reaches out and takes the offered page.

She places herself next to Mark and positions a poignant pause between a nod and the beginning of her speech.

"Mark, allow me to spare us the formalities."

A brief pause, the kind that is just long enough to give the appearance of allowing for objections without making genuine time for the scenario.

"My apologies to you are already overdue."

Lamb makes sure to take a deep breath.

"It was the event that compelled me to find appeal in discord and yet I truly wish I had not heeded its advice so thoroughly."
