[The journals around the castle try to transcribe this particular noise: the sound of a car smashing into an innocent hallway wall. It settles on an odd scrawl of jagging lines that should let the hearing impaired know that something very loud and unpleasant has happened

But more than that, she knows that voice. One that she had thought wouldn't come back here.... so she just stops dead in her tracks before saying it in a softly, almost like she doesn't believe what she's hearing]
Dad?

Dad, it's me! A-Are you okay?
[ooc: it's up to you if Dojima hears this before/after anyone comments saying 'dude, I know Nanako! she's totally here' haha, and you can wait to tag this until after the Adachi thread is done :)]

[He pulls himself together from the scare he just had. She'd been in the passenger seat, so when he looked and didn't see a sign of her, where he was now was so much less important than where she was. He slips back into his best "I'm your father and I've got shit taken care of" persona.]
I'm fine. Where are you? [and now he has to think about what the heck is going on here...]
What's this book? [He mutters that more to himself, turning it over slightly to see where the voice is really coming from.]

It's a magic book... um, kinda like a telephone. [and there's the sound of rustling, she's picking up her journal and not even pausing to put on shoes she's out the door and off to find him]
A-Are you inside a bedroom? [since she doesn't know that his arrival was any different than most]

[Dojima didn't have a chance in hell of finding his daughter, actually. But he's never been in a position where she had to take care of him so it doesn't cross his mind at all to let his daughter do something as potentially dangerous as wandering around in a strange place looking for him.]
A bedroom? Is that where you ran off to? [There's doors around here... giving his car a quick glance, logically he starts heading towards the door nearest to his car. Maybe she got scared and ran off?? That's completely ignoring the fact that they were on a familiar Inaba street just minutes ago!! And that he just ran into someone who was supposed to be in prison.]

No, um... I was already in a room. [there's a pause as she tries to figure out how to give good directions to where she is... it's hard when she doesn't know where he is] It's in Satis Tower, there's a door to go there on the first floor.

[Wherever they are, the place has seen better days. He wanders by some particularly crude graffiti, even.]
"Nice place you got here"...? Nanako, did you pass by some... drawings on the wall? [Maybe if she remembers which way she went if she passed by this... Dojima is convinced, still, that the Nanako he's speaking to is the one he had in the car with him just before he arrived here.]

It doesn't usually look like this, some bad people messed it up. [well, it's more complicated than that, but that's the side of it she knows. After pausing for another moment, she'll head down the stairs to the lobby. She feels a little bad, but she really really wants to see him.]

[There it is again... Adachi was saying something about Nanako being here for longer than either of them have. That doesn't make any sense... but then again, him running into Adachi in the first place didn't make any sense either. Dojima pauses by the graffiti, suddenly lost in thought. The obvious DETECTIVE'S INTUITION kicks in: things really aren't adding up.]
[He wants to press her again, about which way she went from here... but intuition tells him there's a more important question to ask:]
...Nanako, do you... know something? About where we are?

This is Paradisa, it's... [another pause, almost as if she knows that Dad probably won't be satisfied with her answer] a magic castle. I-It takes people from lots of different worlds, and we have to stay here until it sends us back home.
Um... but people said that time is frozen while you're here, so people back home don't know that you're missing. [she says this all in her most 'matter of fact' voice, the same way you would hear her recite something that she heard from a teacher]

And after saying that she's made her way down the stairs to the lobby. She's just looking around there... hoping that maybe he's found his way down the stairs]

He frowns down at the page, not sure how to respond to the timid tone in his daughter's voice, as if she's afraid he'll get mad at her. He just gave someone a mean right hook-- and now he wants to see how mean his left hook is when he finds the person behind all this Paradisa nonsense. Nobody kidnaps his daughter and gets away with it. Nobody ( ... )

Nanako! [He nearly drops the book as he sprints up to her. He's almost afraid she'll disappear if he takes his eyes off of her.]

[yeeeeeah, and she's sprinting over to him just as quickly. Those last lingering feelings of doubt- thinking that maybe this was all a dream were pushed to the side and she runs up to hug her father. She can't even really bring herself to say anything more, she's just going to cling to him. She's been happy here, and met wonderful people who had become just like family. But that didn't mean she missed him any less, and hugging him like this where she could smell his scent, it was like being home for a moment. So she'll just cling to him, feeling like she was exhaling a breath that she didn't even realize she had been holding.]

But now he hugs her for all he's worth, because she is all he's worth. She was his everything, and no words from any language could express that more than how tightly he tries to hold and protect her in his arms now. He lets out a shaky breath along with his daughter. He doesn't give a damn about magic castles and wrecked cars and convicted murderers so long as his daughter is safe.]
