[Peace Patrol Headquarters]

[Meeting time! Everyone come in, mingle, greet the newbies. Yuan's sitting at the front of the room, surrounded by more papers than usual, and looking...particularly grim? That seems strange, considering that they've won the big fight.

Haven't they? ...Maybe he's just tired.]

[Alan is just going to observe for a little while to get a feel of the place, taking a few sips of coffee here and there.]

It developed from a network...how positively intriguing truly, that something like that could exist at all.

Indeed, it's an incredible irony truly, in that, this places cruelest act is one which no one remembers upon leaving.

I was as surprised as you are, but it was the final piece of a puzzle.

Exactly. A few others and I have been trying to figure out how it works, but we've had no luck so far.

The final piece of what puzzle exactly?

And really now? I imagine that must be quite the endeavor, considering I doubt this place is very forthcoming with answers. What exactly have you discovered if anything?

The puzzle of hints he'd been making as to his whereabouts and work. He'd hidden the Grid - his 'secret project' of sorts. Now I know where he'd gone off to.

Very little. I do think, however, that the castle's magic is refined in the Insolitus. [At least, that's what conclusion Gibson has arrived at, and it makes sense.]

Ahh, I can see where that would be a good puzzle. At least you know where he went so long as you stay here, and it is a good puzzle for when you get back to your world.

You will have to forgive me, I have only been here for a short time, and what information I have gleaned from various sources I do not recall a mention of anything by the name Insolitus. Do you mind explaining it? [He's ignoring the word magic for now, really. But he has something like an excited gleam in his eyes with this conversation.]

Assuming I manage to figure out that he's trapped inside a computer, which is believed to be impossible. I hope I can, but... [Odds say unlikely.]

The Insolitus is a room - a network, really - of dark tunnels. It goes on longer than anyone has explored so far, and with the limited spaces between hallways, it should be impossible for it to be so large.

....That is true yes, I can see where that would cause difficulty indeed. [Yeah he's starting to see where that would be hard to believe in other context.]

But really now? That is, rather interesting. Almost, as if, like a separate dimension or something is there.

Right. Inside, there's also a room called the 'Lost Room', filled with items that don't have owners. Their uses aren't the traditional ones, though, depending on the item.

There was an expedition inside a few months back; perhaps there will be another one soon. I'd like to see where - or even if - it ends.

[Mental snark of 'Well at least people's ability to name things originally isn't any different then back home,' aside, he's leaning forward some, only wincing slightly.]

Items that do things that are nontraditional? Like what if I may ask?

And yes that would be quite the expedition. Something like that, where it's mysterious are untold, it is quite the lure as well I would think, for the curious.

[Alan sets down his coffee, reaching into his pocket for the ever-present journal. He takes a few moments to flip through it, eventually finding the proper page.]

Of the ones I know, there was a shoe brush that acted like a walkie-talkie with a container of shoe polish and a text in a language nobody knows.

[Replacing the journal and picking his coffee back up, he now notices the wince.] Maybe we should sit down.

[He leans back again after hearing that to think, rubbing his leg some.]

Now that is, very fascinating truly, a text in a language nobody knows? Do you know what it looks like?

[He sighs though at that suggestion, but at least it's not Helen making the recommendation.] If you don't mind and would like too.

[He shakes his head.] I don't, and I never caught the name of the person who had it.

[He tries to make his suggestion gracious.] Well, I'm sure we'll have to sit down for the meeting anyway, and I could use a chance to rest.

[He frowns a little at that, looking oddly disappointed.] That is unfortunate, if you ever do learn the name of the person who has it will you let me know?

[And he is very thankful for it, you just won points Alan for that really.] That is, more then likely true yes, so take your pick then.

[He nods.] I will. I can ask around.

[There's a big group of chairs more towards the center of the room, so Alan settles in one near the middle.] That's better.

[He nods in turn.] Thank you for that.

[James follows him and sits down just a little too heavily but it's obvious he's more comfortable sitting then he had been standing.] Indeed it is. So, besides sentient computer programs, does your world have anything else out of the ordinary?
