[Peace Patrol Headquarters]

[Meeting time! Everyone come in, mingle, greet the newbies. Yuan's sitting at the front of the room, surrounded by more papers than usual, and looking...particularly grim? That seems strange, considering that they've won the big fight.

Haven't they? ...Maybe he's just tired.]

[Alan is just going to observe for a little while to get a feel of the place, taking a few sips of coffee here and there.]

[Alan chuckles.] Not that I know of. [He takes a moment to think this over.] Actually, quite a ways back, the company was working on some sort of digitizing technology.

[James chuckles himself.] You never know what lurks beneath the layers of the world until you look. [Then a curious look at that news. Hey he may not like technology but that is curious.] Digitizing technology? As in what if I may ask?

Transforming an item into digital data, so that it can be sent to another location. [Like something out of Willy Wonka's TV room.]

'Here goes something, and here comes nothing.'

Ahh, yes I can see where that would, have it's advantages. [He has sadly never seen that movie before, he prefers books over movies.]

Is that what happened then with your, experiments?

I only saw one of them, with an orange, but one of the scientists insisted that it wasn't 'here goes nothing'. [He chuckles wryly.]

I don't know how far they went, though at one point it must have worked for people. [Hence Flynn and Sam being able to go to the Grid.]

Ahh an orange? A, [He's going to shut up now before going on a scientific ramble about how an orange really wasn't a good experimental item for such things.] And well a scientist is always, defensive of their work, with all the effort put into it.

It must have worked however yes, because your friend I would assume used it to go inside of the computer system yes? [He's figured that one out and it's really gotten him curious.]

[Alan wouldn't mind; he wasn't in charge of that.]

[He nods again.] Yes, he did. How he discovered he could do that, I don't know.

[James has been trying to behave when it comes to such things.]

[He nods slowly but smiles a little.] It is entirely possible that it was on accident. If they were only working with oranges then obviously complex biological figures had yet to be tested. Or someone gave him the idea.

Knowing him, he probably came up with it himself. [He can't help but grin, himself - crazy old Flynn.] He was good with computers - [one of ENCOM's best and brightest] so it wouldn't surprise me.

[Oh he's enjoying this Alan, and a knowing nod comes from it.] And a touch on the slightly more, eccentric side of things? [Because in his opinion you would almost have to be crazy to do such a thing.]

That's Flynn alright. [That just about matches Alan's opinion, but he's used to it.]

He must keep you rather occupied, I should think. [James is too, you don't get more eccentric then Nikola Tesla....]

[Now Alan laughs.] That would be correct. I have to hunt him down half the time. [Though thankfully he's not violent.]

[Another laugh from James as well.] Yes I would think so, but at least you watch out for him. [That is very true, at least not all the eccentric friends are violent.]

[Alan nods. He'd never admit it, but he enjoys being chosen to participate in Kevin's crazy schemes.] That's what friends are for.
