[The sound of a pair of TARDII warping in disturbs the bucolic peace of this place. The doors come open and the travelers, some perhaps a little worse for the wear after that abrupt trip, walk out into the morning sunshine.

[Violet is starting a detailed map once they've started trekking. Each section has its own page about the different types of things. She's taking everything in. Drawing, noting, doodling, making footnotes, looking up periodically and making sure to keep up with the group. Oh, how exciting. She's even started collecting some of leaves to tape into the notebook later.]

Definitely not. One of the past leaders of the expeditions did the same while she was here. I think she put everything in a book before she was sent home.

[She brightens at that.] I was wondering about past expeditions. It'd be helpful if I familiarize myself with them.

I've only been here since last year, so I can't tell you much about the ones before then. Did you want to know about them anyway?

The last expedition we went on was to Mineas Well. It's where we met Miss Flora, an old woman living there. Normally, we come across hostile people living in the Dead Zone or further out from the castle but she's on our side. She even gave us these little crystals back during Christmas if we wanted to come back to the Well whenever. They work as a power source too, I believe.

There was also another person there; Zexion. He used to live in the castle and he set off. Now he's been living there with Miss Flora and... [ a beat. ] Goldfleck. The talking cat.

[She listens, noting a few things in the side.] So there are others then. Why are they mostly hostile? Do people think we'll see someone out on Lente's Point?

We're not too sure why. They've been living here longer than most of us, and have been able to keep away from the castle for a long time. It has to do with fighting for land and power, typical things people want.

Who knows, we might. We're about three hundred people in the castle. Who's to say there aren't a couple of hundred people out here?

[ an awkward look. ]

Yeah... Goldfleck even walked on his hind legs. [ beside him, his dog, koromaru whines. goldfleck was mean to him. :( ]

Sounds like feudal times here. Though admittedly, I don't know much about here. Back on my world or here.

[She nods.] How very interesting. I'm still very new, just arriving a few days ago. I didn't know our numbers were that large.

[Violet looks down at the dog and smiles.] May I? [She asks, bending an offering a hand to him.]

[Violet bends to pet the dog, but keeps the conversation going.] New York, but I seem to be behind most people. It's 1935 if you know of my world.

[She shrugs.] The Doctor suggested I should come along. I've done quite a bit before. Not really for exploration purposes, but I've done it nonetheless.

[Some more scratches for the pooch.]

Yes. I met a young woman from 2011. What an odd thing to think.

[More pets.] What's his name?

Mhmm. I did. The last two years, not so much when I was younger, though my parents did.
