When he found out he had a job, he was more than happy to get out of the house.
He made his way through the streets of Paris, letting his eyes wander over the buildings as he went. He had always wanted to really travel, but life kept getting in the way. Now he was actually taking the opportunity to travel, as a weird gift of the castle, and he wasn't really one to look a gifthorse in the mouth. He had already been in the castle long enough to know the catches.
He rounded the corner to the bakery -- apparently it was a line of work he was stuck with now, and blinked, startled when he saw who was inside.
"Hey, Rose."

"Which one are you?" She asked, but it was odd when she felt like she already knew it.
"I was expecting a few to come in today, but you might be the first to show. If you want, you can help clear tables. I'll be done in the back in a bit."

"It's Sam," he said with a nod. "And I'll get right on that."

"Have you ever been t'Paris?" It was small talk, sure, but she felt like she'd seen him before.

It was a place he'd always wanted to go -- where Jessica had always wanted to go, and after she was gone it became little more than a pipe dream. But he was here now, so ... maybe that counted for something.

She smiled at him, wondering just how she could say something like that and really believe it. Shaking it away, she exhaled, "So, we'll just have small plans for sometime while you're here."

She figured that she'd sort his schedule out and then they'd be able to find the best time for it all.
