Max is using this place as a hide out from the rest of her entourage. For the first time since this whole mess started, she's dressed in the clothes she's used to wearing -- jeans, biker boots and a leather motorcycle jacket, and just lounging at one of the tables with a beer.

This is how her life should be. More or less.

She'll be hanging out there for a while if anyone wants to bug her. It's been a long week, and it's Christmas (the one holiday she actually appreciates, and she's with her "family" so to speak.

There's a lot of people still missing from that count, but she's got some pretty good stand-ins instead.

Jo manages to weave through the crowd and find Max.

"I thought I saw you duck in here earlier," she states over the noise of the bar. "Can I get you anything?"

She shakes her head as she holds up the beer next to her. "I'm good for now. Human metabolism -- I don't want to get too carried away."

She's never been drunk as a human before. While it might be fun, she isn't entirely sure the castle is the place to try it.

"Right, right."

Jo shifts to settle against the bar, glancing around, "This bar isn't so bad. It's a bit rougher than the Lux. I kinda like it."

"It is," she says with a nod as she glances around. "Reminds me of Crash, actually. But French."

"I've never been to Crash... but I'll just imagine this place less French."

She grinned. "If the castle ever sends us to my end of Seattle, I'll take you. You'd like it."

"Then I'll start putting that on my Christmas Wish list for next year." Jo glanced around, shrugging, "Still, for Paris, it's not so ... Paris-y."

"True. I was expecting more hearts and flowers."

"Because it's the romance capital of the world?" Jo's teasing, mostly. Of course, the fairy flying around her place isn't joking at all.

No, the fairy isn't. Max is about to make a comment about that, when she gets hit with a poof of fairy dust to the face.

And then she sneezes.

Some cat tendencies don't go away.

Once the sneeze passes, Jo's ready to pounce. So to speak. Her hands reach for the other girl and she's pulling her in close and kissing her.

Max doesn't fight her on it, leaning in to the kiss and sliding her arms around the shorter girl's waist to pull her in closer, leaning into the kiss.

Letting her one hand snake up against Max's back, Jo's pulled in closer and lets her own touch press between her shoulders. Her head tips to the side as she opts to deepen the kiss, humming softly against the other woman's mouth.

Max appreciates the hum, her hand drifting gently against Jo's back as she leans in closer. It's been a long time since she's gotten kissed by anyone, so she's enjoying it for the moment. Until the magic wears off and she realizes who she's kissing, anyway.

It could be worse, Max. Jo happens to be an excellent kisser and her hands are strong, so the touches aren't just something for contact, they had a need behind them, an urging of wanting more, even if she doesn't really want more.

The magic doesn't know better though and all the stuff with Chase... that doesn't help either.
