Donated blood at American Red Cross blood drive at work. Did my good deed of the day AND lost one pound of weight. I just love the instant satisfaction of good karma one gets from blood donation.

On NPR's Morning Edition, there was a report about Michelle Obama charming everyone in Europe. Here, I paraphrase the reporter:

Got my eyes checked with the eye doctor. It was just a periodic check-up and I passed with flying colors. There are no horrible physical conditions: no glaucoma, no retinal detachment, no swelling of blood vessels and no macular degeneration. In terms of vision, it is 20/20. Watched two (actually, one and half) Hindi movies in the last few weeks.

• Chak de India: A good movie about Indian Women's Hockey team training and their eventual win in the World Cup, all fueled by a disgraced player working as their coach. Interesting plot; very different from the regular Bollywood trash. It is very watchable as Shah Rukh Khan ( Read more... )
