I have to say that I'm always surprised when I find out that someone I know is a follower of religion. It's absolutely shocking to me that in this day and age people follow these ancient superstitions. But I'm as tired of athiests being nasty to believers as I am believers aghast that I'm an atheist. So, I'm not sure I've answered your question.
It's a better movie than I expected. And I agree about his smugness. He may not believe in god, but he has an evangelical smugness about losing a couple stone that is headsmack-worthy.
His smugness certainly did not start with the weight loss, he's been arrogant for as long as he's been famous! The XFM podcasts are great proof. Still enjoyable to listen to though
