Booking Through Thursday

This week's questions were suggested by Kim.
  1. Do you have a favorite character(s)?
But of course! So there's Stephen Maturin, Mr. Darcy, Elizabeth Bennet, Mary Russell, Joshua Lawerence Chamberlain (though he's...ah... real, not fictional), Lord Peter Wimsey, Peregrin Took (yes, the book Pippin), Sherlock Holmes, Jon Snow ( Read more... )

I missed this post, so I'm glad you linked to it! I actually have never read Three Muskateers, so I only know that character from the movies. She seems really interesting though. You've got some of my favorite characters listed too. I need to pick someone that isn't related to one of my fandoms too. I think that's why I drew a blank. I could only think of the characters that I'm always talking about anyways.

Thanks for the link!

In my case, I decided to go for someone different - I could easily enough do a profile on my usual favorites, but it wasn't any fun. Sure, even interesting characters get stale if you poke at them too often :)

Oh Milady! I have been a fangirl since the far-off days when "Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds" was on children's television,* and Milary was a wonderful cat with an incredibly seductive voice.

On another note entirely, yes, favourite character is a rather different concept to characters one actually likes, even though there may well be significant overlap. I do not, for instance, much like Fraulein Rottenmeier, but she's a great character.

* This programme colours my perception of all other TV and film adaptations. It's a shock every time to see that Cardinal Richelieu is in fact not a red setter, and no actor ever quite conveys the Cardinal's spirit in the way that dog does!
