This is a really excellent morning. I saw John's posting about sitting out on the porch and thought it would be a good idea. It was, and is. Apparently my neighborhood is better than John's since there is no mowing or edging going on. My sprinklers are the only yard work to be heard.
Life is good. -

Apparently, my yard is hospitable. I've got toads, 3 kinds of lizard (green anoles, mediterranean geckos and skinks) and 3 kinds of snake (blind, garter and judging by the skin I found there's a fairly large coachwhip).
Hopefully, a visit from the exterminator to get rid of silverfish and ants won't wipe out my wildlife. -

I just read The Problem With Photographing the Beautiful and the Famous, and it's a good roundup of ways to avoid making boring cliche shots of the same things that everyone else does. Grab details, take pictures in unusual circumstances, abstract the image somehow.
