Summ Summ Summertime!   It's time for heat, humidity, dying grass and bike rides.  We've been going on the Bike Through History rides on the trail on Wednesdays, which have been fun.  They only average about 10 miles, which still gets us home after 9:00 p.m., so you wouldn't want them to go any longer than that ( Read more... )

It has taken nearly 3 weeks for the majority of the snow to go away, although a lot of it is still in our front yard, and other north-facing properties.   The weather is lovely today with temps in the low 50's.  After all the cold and snow, one is tempted to start looking for shorts and tee shirts, but 50 degrees is not as warm as it seems.  ( Read more... )

We now have water leaking through the framing around the bay window in the living room.  There is so much snow and ice on the roof, it's coming through behind the gutters, I suppose.  Mr. Fred cleared some of the snow off the roof above the problem area, but he says there's several inches of ice on the gutter, which you don't really want to beat on ( Read more... )
