So.. I went to the embassy this morning, for the second time.

To sum things up, the disappointing information is that I can't go back to the US right after the ceremony : I have to wait 2 to 3 months for an interview at the US embassy of Paris. After the interview, and if the interview goes alright on the same day, I would get a ( Read more... )

yep, I think Nicole and I are going to protest a lot about the whole thing. And when I think of these couples who wait sometimes for a year or more than a year apart of each other because of those stupid rules !

Thank you dear. At least Nicole will be with me. Actually my mother is the one to be happy about it, she'll have more time to spend with Nicole and since I won't move my furnitures in a rush, she feels safer for me.

excellent question, at first I thought I could take a plane and we would go to Las Vegas and in 30mn it would be settled, then I discovered this thing called immigration services and homeland security ...

What a pain!!! These kinds of situations really get under my skin--you are trying your damnedest to do what you're supposed to, follow the rules, make the proper arrangements, but because the person on the other end can't seem to give you complete & correct information, your plans get screwed. Grr! I am indignant on your behalf!

At least you will feel less rushed (a small blessing!) and your mom will be happy that you & Nicole have more time in France. But still! Grr!
