scary

I had a dream that Maurice got lost. I started to cry so hard in my dream that I almost cried in real life, and woke myself up. As soon as I woke up I started calling out for him. He came over, but seemed perplexed and annoyed by my calling. I picked him up and squeezed him, but he wasn't in the mood and he bit me. It was worth it, though--I ( Read more... )

I'm glad you still have Maurice. If I lost Pochi, I wouldn't know what to do.

Do you plan on going to the WSSA holiday party on the 14th? I was thinking about car pooling with somebody, but I wasn't sure if you needed a ride or not.

I'm turning in a paper earlier that day, but I think I should be able to go. I need to check my email for info on the party...I haven't been paying much attention to my WSSA emails since I've been so busy the last few weeks. But I'd like to go with you if that's ok.

my cat woke me up at two this morning to let him outside, which isn't normal. he came back in for a minute around seven, and then went back out. i didn't see him again for a long long time, which is really weird - he's old, he sleeps all morning usually, and he's great about coming when i call him. i was actually starting to worry that he had gone off to die somewhere and i wouldn't know how to find him, and i went outside several times to call for him and look around in his usual places. he finally showed up around two this afternoon, and he would act mad at me whenever i got close to him. but now i'm home from work and he's behaving normally again. maybe there's a weird universal cat-thing going on...

Later in the day yesterday Maurice was gagging like he was going to barf. He does that all the time--I guess he has a delicate constitution or something because he's the barfiest cat you could ever hope to meet. But after that dream, seeing him like that made me really scared. What if it was some kind of symbolic dream showing that I was going to lose Maurice not in a park but to some kind of vomitous illness. But then the spell passed after a minute and I realized I was being silly. Anyways, point being I can really relate to your anxiety about your cat's health because I'm the same way with Mo, and he's young and healthy.

And on the bright side, at least I didn't dream about eating Maurice. That would have been way scarier.

I have been doing more Maurice-hugging than usual ever since that dream, which generally results in cranky meows and biting.
