Gen was confused, and not just a little miffed. There she was, trying to relax in the safe house with Cali by watching a House marathon, only to have her brother skip, skip, into the building and all but shove her out the door. The amusement, urgency, and feelings that all but screamed "about freakin' time!" she picked up from him were almost enough to mask what Dreadnought sent her.
Almost.
Following the promptings in her spark, she hesitantly made her way to the sign until finally she was standing behind him.
Not certain how to approach her future bond-mate, Gen sent out a slight brush of connection to him, akin to a mental or emotional knock on a door.
He starts, moving off the couch and crouching to face her so quickly that she'll probably have a hard time tracking the movement. There's nothing threatening about his motions though, or about his pose. He's looking at her uncertainly, though his spark softly sings welcome.
Two is also singing, not so softly. Dreadnought absently orders him to go home.
There were many things that she had to talk with him about, and many things she wanted to talk about, but the combination of Dreadnought's sudden movement and the mere fact of facing him directly--outside of a dream, that is--caused her processors to skreech to a halt. Instead, she said the first thing that popped into her head.
"You're a lot taller than I remember..."
Gen's hands flew to her mouth as she gasped lightly, realizing what she just said. Her processors kick back into overdrive, working hard to figure out a way to bang her head on something for such a stupid line without looking like the absolute dork she felt she was being.
He blinks, then winces a little at the rush of emotion that he senses and says quietly, "Well, you're used to me being a lot shorter."
He's glad to see her, still uncertain and facing an emotion that he hasn't felt since he was a new sparked rookie. He'd forgotten what fear felt like, but this little tiny tickle in his circuits can be only that.
//Nag, nag, nag. That's all you do. I thought you were Jazz's son! One would think you'd inherit his ability to charm anyone and everyone, but nooooo. It's always just "do this" and "do that" with you. Oh, and by the way-//
"Two steps ahead of you." Psych is, indeed, standing within speaking distance of the pair, an amused smile on his faceplates.
Dreadnought grins and holds out his hand for the tiny sparkling, then holds her close as he reaches into a storage compartment with the other hand and wings a fabric bag of Cybertron Sunrises at the green mech. "Thanks. Get lost."
Psych pulls out a Sunrise and takes a huge bite while leaning against the ever-so convenient Nexus Wall. "Now why would I want to do that when I can just sit back and watch my own personal soap opera?" >:3
He sets her free with an absent rumble of affection and a kiss on the helm, then straightens as Eject gently steers Valley away toward their home in the hall closet.
"Washington. The human Defense Secretary has him." Dreadnought looks down to be sure of her, and then heads toward the front door. "Come on. There's something I want to show you."

Gen doesn't answer him verbally, but she leans in close enough to lay her head on his shoulder, deliberately squeezing his hand again.

On the other hand, Gen's shoulders shake as she holds back laughter before giving up and laughing out loud, leaning on Dreadnought for support.
