I don't really have any amazing insights into comic con this year, but what the hell. Last year was a HELL of a lot of fun, so this one was pretty well guaranteed to be somewhat of a step down. Okay, one small quibble about the 'con. Why so many Dr. Horrible and Scout from TF2 costumes? Dr. Horrible's Sing along is hardly new, but I've seen MORE of them this year than last, and the TF2 stuff is pretty much right out of left field.

I'm WAY dang tired but I have to write this down before I lose steam, and my kettle is dangerously light. I got up at 7 to get down to comic con, spent 2 hours in line to get in, spent a pretty cool day wandering around, and then watched anime in the movie-rooms to kill time until 9:30pm, when the Starlight Mints (who i heart muchly) were playing ( Read more... )

Just got back from seeing Harry Potter. True, I've never read the books, but I really guess I missed the point where the series became all about beer and sloppy hot makeouts.

Just finished "Last Chance To See," the book Douglas Adams wrote about conservation. It was pretty good, and it got me to dig up one of my old favorite videos, a speech Adams gave not too long before his death where he summarizes the book and several of the stories from it.
