I am sorry, but High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) is a man-made sugar made from corn starch using chemicals, bacteria, and enzymes. Studies show it is linked to obesity and diabetes. I don't know about others, but I can taste the difference. HFCS tastes sweeter than sugar to me, and I don't like the taste to be honest.

But take a 12 ounce glass of water and try to dissolve 10-13 teaspoons (1/4 cup) of sugar in it. You might need to boil the water first. Once you succeed, take a sip. Even if you add some flavor, I am willing to bet it would be too sweet.
My iced tea I make uses 1/2 a cup for over a gallon, or about 1-2 teaspoons for that same size serving. I like to use a mix of regular, brown, and raw sugar. For Thai tea, I use palm and raw sugar. The calories are much less, and the flavor of the sugar enhances the taste.

Seems to me that hemlock is a more natural ingredient than HFCS, and hemlock will kill you.

That is the problem. I wrote them back and explained that corn syrup and High Fructose Corn Syrup are two entirely different things.
Corn syrup has been around for over 100 years. It is less soluble and less sweet than HFCS. It can be broken down and used by the body easily. HFCS has only been around for 30 years and now they are finding ot that it can't be processed by the body easily, so the body stores it as fat.
