I miss you, love (It's been 4 years)

May 16, 2010 21:37

Yesterday I saw a cycle coming up past my car in the side mirror and I would have sworn it was you. The ponytail in the leather wrapper-thing looked just like yours. I felt like you were waving at me, and it made me smile. Even here in Austin you know where I am.
I'll always think of that moment as you sending a smile.

There are a couple of women in town... who have made me stop breathing for a moment because I was so sure they were LAH.

You know, four years is not a long time. We will never forget her as long as we live, and really, as painful as that is at times, that is as it should be. Some people are like that. It just is what it is.

but I heard fiddle playing today, and I cried.

There was a Celtic fiddler playing for a festival across the street at the museum when I came out of work on Friday == I cried, too. You're right, she'll always be there, but I haven't quite gotten used to the hole in my heart.

Maybe it was an omen from the other side ... who knows? I'm sure she would be smiling at you and encouraging you in your life if it were.

Well, life's river is taking me to some strange places, and I know she'd say to grab it as it goes.

Hugs to you, too.
