Sherlock Fic: You Were Great

I won first place at my debate meet today! It was my first debate meet ever. I attribute a lot of the win to my partner, but it still feels REALLY good. We even both got first place bowling pins! *pumps fist*

And now, fic!

That was fantastic. Beautiful work. The "that's what people DO" line was spot on. Absolutely perfectly used. Damn fine job.

Oh, thank you so much. It took me awhile to come up with that line, because Sherlock needed to say SOMETHING particularly awful to make John that mad, so I'm really glad you liked it. <3

This is masterful! I'm not sure I've ever read 2nd person-obviously nothing that sticks out in my mind-but this is wonderful because it just works.

This: But sound is an ever present tether connecting you to the world, keeping you down whenever your mind is tempted to float away.

Wow. I'm not even sure what to say about that line but it resonated very strongly with me. Maybe because it's very Sherlock and fits him so well?

I'm seriously impressed with this story and your writing. Simply brilliant!

Thank you! I'm a big fan of second person, even though I can only name a few really good fics using it. They're hard to come by!

I like that line too. I actually wrote it from (kinda) personal experience. Sometimes I'm just about to drift off into my own little world, and then I hear a commercial or someone talking or something and get snapped back into the present. Perhaps this is true for Sherlock too, he seems like the type to get lost in his thoughts.

Thank you so much, this is such a lovely comment! :D

Fantastic. I adore 2nd person POV when it's done right: there's something that much more visceral about it, and you pulled it (and the characterisation) off beautifully here. Every sentence was like a revelation. Love love love. ♥

Oh, thank you so much. I'm a big fan of 2nd person as well (when it's done right, like you said). It feels so personal to me, because YOU are the character, and they're YOUR thoughts and emotions. I'm glad to meet someone of a like mind to myself when it comes to this! Thank you for your lovely comment! : )
