Admittedly I didn't intend to go to grad school for the company of others, but still, it makes me so sad that one of my really close friend is leaving the program due to unforseen circumstances. Besides me, she's the only other Californian in this program. I feel as if I shouldnt' be upset about this, as much as I've been. Or maybe the truth is

1. sorry to hear about a CA person leaving. Theres one other grad student here that is from CA and we always bond over CA stuff.
2. it does get cold here on the east coast don't it...
