CAVEAT PRO QUO

Some entity called Pro Quo Books in Toledo, Ohio has this single sentence as a book description for almost 125,000 books they've listed on ABE:

"Book has signs of wear, but remains fully functioning and easily readable."

If you've ordered something from them and it's only partially functioning, I'd demand my money back ( Read more... )

I'm in the market for partially-functioning books with other redeeming features. Is this the shop for me?

Seriously, I'm in the market for a particular book that we (my employer) use lots of copies of, and for my purposes a copy in great disrepair would be advantageous. Nobody advertises those prominently. Send me a message if you have pointers for me.

I suppose I'd scour the online bookselling sites for the title you're looking for and sort them to show lowest price first. A good place to search several sites at once is AddAll. The used books page is here:

I think I mentioned before that my mother needed books to practice on when she took bookbinding classes. Luckily my father had a lot of discards for her to choose from.
