I don't mind the .NET platform, or the C# language, but I am developing a deep and abiding hatred of Visual Studio 2008.
Turns out the main thing that was making it work horribly was fixed in a patch months and months ago... so the part that's truly not working is the updater that's supposed to find the patches.

Fun fact: inside the state department, it's apparently become popular to refer to Hillary as "Glinda", as opposed to the outgoing secretary, "the Wicked Witch of the West".
