Okay, I'm now active on Google Plus: https://plus.google.com/u/0/100516437261483696990/posts. I've found that WordPress is good for writing content and bad for social connection, while G+ is good socially but bad for significant content. It's closer to Twitter than to LJ. So neither of these venues is able to replace the other. So I'm following ( Read more... ) -

After two years off, I have started a new blog again, on WordPiss. That system totally lacks many of the things that I liked about LJ -- for instance, it seems to be terrible at bringing people into circles of friends, and its layout themes tend to have a hard time with width adjustment. We went to Mitchell Canyon and the gf was super sharp at spotting the wildlife. The masterstroke was locating a hummingbird nest. This thing is only like 4 cm across.
