Maya went to see her brand new baby cousin today, Kevin and I took Eli to Rae's sister's house for her niece's graduation party. I love Rae's family, the dynamic among 4 sisters, when I grew up with none, intrigues me. Eli is such a fantastic party goer, he's so chill and adorable. Both of my children are still asleep. I don't know what to do with myself. Eli woke up at 4:30 this morning screaming like a crazy person and when I went into his room he was on his back, limbs flailing. I painted the upstairs hallway and all of the trim white this morning. It's been naked drywall for a year and I happened to have white paint in the basement so today was the day. It looks institutional yet fresh. It won't last long, white walls make me anxious. I also changed out some doorknobs so now all of the doorknobs visible from the hallway ( Read more... )

It's been a big adjustment since Kevin went back to work full time. Things like running to the grocery store while he was home between classes will be sorely missed. We're doing really well, Maya and I seem to be gettng along and Eli has carved out a pretty consistent nap schedule. We're having a birthday party for Eli. It's evolved into in a grown up cookout and I'm very excited. My brother promises to have the deck built in time, I'm motivated to get some long awaited work on the house and yard completed.
