I have two theories when it comes to Lost:

1. The producers have said that Stephen King's The Stand is a major influence on the series. In that book, the States are divided into the West (Evil) and East (Good), just like the island seems to be divided between the Others and the Oceanic flight 815 survivors. We presume, because we know them better, that our guys are the goodies... What if they aren't?

2. The producers and writers just make it up as they go along.

I'm currently going with Theory 2 at the moment.

See, I don't minf the plot twis that our guys are really the baddies, but...well, that doesn't explain all the weird shit the others pulled: killing Oceanic Flight People, hiding amongst them to screw with them, stealing babies and Walt. I mean our guys haven't been saints, but they have, for the most part, been pretty passive. I would need something really compelling to make me believe that the Oceanic Flight people are suddenly the baddies. I also need some evidence that the producers aren't just pulling this stuff outta their asses. So far I'm not terribly convinced.

Yeah, the writers have pretty much admitted that they're just pulling shit out of their asses. Like, the whole think about Locke in the wheelchair? The writer just stuck that in at the last minute because he thought it would be 'cool'. o.O Because, yes, none of this weird stuff needs an explanation. And they've also said that most of the 'connection' scenes and appearances of the numbers are just the writers having 'fun'. Which is why Lost pisses me off SO DAMN MUCH! Grrr... ARCH!

Whoa... the connection is the writiers having 'fun'??? OMFG, that is so IRRITATING! I was waiting for some awesomely cool, or at least semi-interesting reason for why all the people were connected or on the island or something. That they have no idea what the tragectory is PISSES ME OFF.

South Park has better continuity. GAH!
