The ridiculous nature of the airline "industry"

Why do we put up with this?
  • The airline industry is the only place where you can purchase your ticket, but not actually get a seat. "Oops, sorry, we're overbooked, and no one volunteered to give up their seat. But we can get you on another flight in 6 hours.

Amy moved to New York yesterday .... she spent the first 19 hours of her new adventure and new life stranded in Akron, Ohio. She got to New York around 11 this morning and is happily snoozing in her friend's apartment now.

I want to punch someone in nose. Flying is not new. Bad weather is not new. They really can dump people anywhere they want to, without access to food, and feel no responsible for it at all. Absolutely staggering.
