I have been putting off updating because I wanted to make a post about Skunk, but really just haven't been able to talk about it. The short story is that our eldest fur-baby died of lung cancer on May 18, 2004 at the age of 19. We cremated him the next day on our 20th wedding anniversary. Fifteen may be "no spring chicken" for a cat, but it's not necessarily old for an indoors cat either. Heckle probably has several more good years left -- my cats died at ages 21 and 23.

Mine are 12, 11, and 3. The 11 year old is often in poor health, and I worry about him a lot, there never seems to be much the vet can do. But indoor cats can, and often do, live into their 20's. And 7 doesn't seem old to me at all.

A budhist way of thinking would be that Skunk now has a chance to evolve towards enlightenment, and will be back in a more highly evolved form. (no, I'm not budhist, but I love a lot of the budhist religion, very unique.)
I wish you uneventful flights and a rewarding journey.
