I have been putting off updating because I wanted to make a post about Skunk, but really just haven't been able to talk about it. The short story is that our eldest fur-baby died of lung cancer on May 18, 2004 at the age of 19. We cremated him the next day on our 20th wedding anniversary. Not only do I miss him, but I have started to see more ( Read more... )

Sorry to hear about your baby. You did the right thing, but I know that doesn't make it hurt any less.

Fifteen may be "no spring chicken" for a cat, but it's not necessarily old for an indoors cat either. Heckle probably has several more good years left -- my cats died at ages 21 and 23.

Say hi to all our mutual friends at Balticon!

You're being thought of. Hope you get caught up on your sleep -- Rachal was up all night, so we went out to breakfast at four. See you after the weekend.

Sleep. Sleep good. Losing furbabies bad.

Have fun at the con.

I'm sorry to hear about Skunk. That is the hardest thing we have to do when we bring pets into our lives.

Mine are 12, 11, and 3. The 11 year old is often in poor health, and I worry about him a lot, there never seems to be much the vet can do. But indoor cats can, and often do, live into their 20's. And 7 doesn't seem old to me at all.

Have fun at the Con, I hope it cheers you up.

Terribly sorry to hear about Skunk. I'll include good thoughts for you and Skunk when I meditate out in the desert this weekend. {big hugs}

A budhist way of thinking would be that Skunk now has a chance to evolve towards enlightenment, and will be back in a more highly evolved form. (no, I'm not budhist, but I love a lot of the budhist religion, very unique.)

I wish you uneventful flights and a rewarding journey.
