flavor pondering

So I have a birthday coming up in August. And so far, I'm getting plenty of hours, so I'm planning to treat myself to a dozen for my birthday. And I'm DYING to try the pomegranate icing - but having a hard time deciding what cake to pair it with. Suggestions welcome. :)

Vanilla, so the pomegranate flavor doesn't face any strong competition.

Last year for our wedding, thatdamnelf and I had Chocolate cakes with pomegranate as one of our flavor combos. They were divine.

Vanilla cake sounds like a good option too, though I've not tried it myself.
