The above is what you can say to the church. But that does not make what we say to others change one bit.
Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: "The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy loads and put them on men's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
In this (Matthew 23), both sides of the coin are to be seen. Don't forget that there are two. There are few better things that can happen to a person than being healed of what the church demands that they stop - whereas demanding others stop one thing when you do another that is equally fatal, is insane.
I have become very bitter and apathetic. I don't even care about resigning anymore. I don't care about anything.
Actually, dear friend and sister, I think the problem is that you care a very great deal, but you have found that the way forward is closed, and have no hope of change.
But now that you know that the way that was offered is not a way that will ever work, you become free to think the unthinkable, and to accomplish all things through the kingdom of God. First, you need to be free of the delusion that the church will ever be interested in the kingdom. Then you will be ready when the opportunity comes to do what must be done.
