So one of the fans on my computer has started to make a grinding sound. It's stopped for now, but I've been through enough computers to know that usually that's a sign that it will be nearing its end fairly soon. That is if dusting the inside doesn't work. I remember being a kid and playing with floppies. My dad: "Hey, don't mess with that, I backed up files on those 30 floppy disks!" I think you could get what, about two or three word documents on them?

Grating fans are never good. :(

lol i still remember saving everything on floppy disk *sigh* just dated myself massively, haven't i?

Freshman year of college, 1995-1996, I remember needing those FLOPPY floppy disks for my papers. The next year I remember being appalled that those didn't work anymore and I had to get the 3.5 "floppy" disks (those hard ones). They were a lot more expensive.

Yeah, want to talk about dating myself. I graduated high school almost 20 years ago :/

One thing to be aware of: TS2 doesn't seem to work with Windows 8, from what I've seen, so if you do need a new computer, stick to 7 or earlier.

I'm aware that The Sims doesn't run on Windows 8. That is ten shades of suck and I am tentatively putting feelers out there to see if anyone has a copy seeing as computers don't come with Windows disks anymore :/ Either that or I'm YAAARRRR-ing it from somewhere.
