This weekend was low key and relaxing. Saturday we ate an early dinner at Shady Grove, then went amp shopping. Blue Jester found a great Fender amp in his price range that he can carry about, and he also decided he needs this guitar. Tacky in such a rock star way, isn't it? Gotta love 11almost12 year old musicians. This is a common sight in our ( Read more... )

Great picture of the boys with their geetars (guitars)! It must be nice to have a house full of music. How did the harp lesson go, by the way? I love listening to music, but I'm a bit clumsy so I don't think I'd ever be good at actually playing an instrument.

From the photos I've seen, you're quite beautiful and I don't think even black roots with bleached blonde tresses would make you look trashy. You have a wonderfully unique style. Are you going to touch up your roots with the red or go for an entirely different shade? Every once and awhile, I get a mad desire to go redhead, but Nathan usually talks me out of it. My own color is naturally auburn/amber tinted, depending upon the lighting, and I'm told it's very pretty. Sometimes a powerful urge to drastically change one's appearance takes over, you know?

As for Elisabeth Bathory, I've always been a bit fascinated/repulsed by her, as well. It is a bit early in the morning for deep psyche exploration, but perhaps is has something to do with an odd respect for a ruthless woman in

The harp lesson is Thursday night, and I get fluttery just thinking on it! I SO hope I can do this! I have never played any instrument before and I worry I won't be able to grasp this new and utter alien concept.

I got my roots touched up with red. I have gone stark staring mad for bright red heair now. My natural hair colour is black, and when I have coloured it before it was always with purple. For some reason, the red feels more "me". Thank you for the lovely compliment...I don't see myself that way AT ALL. I am not completely unfortunate looking, but I DO think I look rather weird.

I can see from your photographs on your site that your hair is indeed a lovely shade of auburn, and it looks so healthy! Do you know how much people PAY for that colour? Lucky lass, you!

"I am not completely unfortunate looking, but I DO think I look rather weird."

You are apparently living in this world.

I really enjoyed this last weekend. I think we'll probably go to Shady Grove on a monthly basis, especially when it's perfect outdoor weather. I'm really excited about that amp we got, it should last him a long time and it sounds really good for a cheap amp. I love that picture, as you may be able to tell.

I'm so glad to have the end of the Xbox live ordeal in sight. Sorry I get so cranky when I have to try to talk to tech support people based out of India, but OMFG!!1 :D ( ... )

(which is why I didn't mention I need to re-do my nails since all the silver's worn off)

No worries about such things: my ex-boyfriend always polished his nails, either cobalt blue or gun metal/silver. Then again, he used to wear a full face of make-up (a la Brandon Lee in The Crow), so perhaps that's not the best comparision for me to draw... ;-)

LOL, umm, yeah, I'm not sure how reassuring that is, but I do see where you're coming from :P I think since the silver doesn't look at all feminine it's alright in the end, but it sounds bad to talk about it regardless :)

You know, while I am rather fond of goth (or gothic if you prefer) fashion, I think the rules should be a bit more strict for guys, especially when it comes to make-up...or skirts...or fishnet tops. Yeah, I guess guys should just wear black. I think it's a phase thing, and I was just too old by the time I was aware of it, so maybe I'm just jealous. I have worn eyeliner on occasion though :o

Well, I still admire that you can talk about the so-called feminine aspects of your personality. It shows strength of character. Obviously, you are secure enough with yourself that you really don't care what others think. One day, I hope to reach this lofty goal, myself ( ... )

That is sucj a lovely photo! It reminds me of the days when Geoff was just a little younger than Blue Jester is there. My brother, Glenn, and Geoff with the guitar that he'd given him. Memories.
I see the cupboards int he background? Have you decided on a colour?
And last but not least, how did the music lesson go? I have to say, I love the harp, and am quite lucky to hear it often when I'm working. There is a lady (Elizabeth Ely) who comes to play during dinner in the Empress Room.

We are STILL debating the cabinet colour :/ Now I am leaning toward white, just so the damn appliances aren't so glaringly obvious. If I ONLY had the $$$ to get black appliances. POOH.

Love my boys. So sweet. So loving. I am very lucky!
