I can't help you with the drumming, but after seeing Jonathan interviewed in Texas Monthly Magazine, I found myself really enjoying the old version today, in a deep, content, turn up the stereo in the middle of the day happiness. It's like they hid extra shivers within every track. (Hokey, yes, but how else do you explain it?)
