Books read in 2011
For the first time in years I have made my target of eight books a month! The figure of 96 does include one book I read twice this year, so if you count the list, it will only come to 95, but since I do include re-reads, it makes no sense to exclude re-reads in the same year. Seasonal
(Most of) the cards are sent, the presents are bought and (mostly) wrapped, the tree is up and decorated and thanks to a stray poll by philmophlegm it has a new decoration on top, being a small plush Cthulhu given to me by epidemiological some years ago, rigged up on a foil-covered piece of wrapping paper roll and fixed to it by a little knitted skirt and hat which came on ( Read more... ) -

Shocking, I know...
What does one do with bottles of beer past their best before date? I haven't drunk them because the bottles I did drink gave me a headache, malaheed doesn't drink, it seems uncouth to offer out of date drinks to guests, and unthinkable to pour it out. All I can think of is to put it out for the slugs, in hopes of making a buffet for the hedgehog. -
Plebiscite
The closest I've ever got to participating in a referendum is helping to sand down the electoral urn box we built in Technical Education class in middle school. Seeing as I have still not got around to citizenship, I'll just have to settle for being nosy.
