Oh my God I loved this, you have no idea. It feels like a whole lot of meta and headcanon poured out in fic form (and I mean that in the best possible way, as I'm a big fan of both). And Coulson lives. Of course he lives. Lovely touch.

I love how she's determined to reclaim what they have; I love his passivity and his trust. Love the way you paint their (established) relationship. And the sexin'? Hot and sweet and intense. Yes, pls.

But I think my favorite bit of all was this:

The color suits him, just like it suits her; they were born to be painted like this, vivid red like fresh-spilled blood
