This was my favorite line:

Everything was still and silent, save for the breeze wafting the grass in the grazing fields and the faint sounds of horses and cattle. He inhaled nicotine, closing his eyes and letting warmth wash over him.

I have to admit, as it went on, I didn't expect to like this piece but I did. You tenderly drew us into Eric's heart.

You're a great writer. I really enjoyed reading this.

Thank you so much! I felt that it was a little in your face at times, but I'm glad it came across as less THIS IS THE STORY and more "here, have a story," if that makes any sense.

Gods, I loved this.
This is excellent.
My favorite piece from this week.
Thanks so much for writing it, sharing it.
This was just...great. The relationships, and the fact that I could see it happening in my head like I do with published books.
awesome.

Wow, thank you so much!

When I write, I always try to make it very visual--I'm a big fan of the "show, don't tell" method of writing. I'm glad you could see it playing out!
