The monkey's glassed over eyes and thick lips express its typecast role as rhythm-setter, drumskin and cymbals clanging ad infinitum. Even its striped shirt and steady pacing, all its motors oiled and winded, suggest more than an age of "Aestheticism". In high school almost everyone is a monkey. If people don't change by the time they're old enough to be art dealers... that's disappointing ( ... )

You know what? I don't know. I haven't watched the whole series and I saw that scene as an OAV. I think they were trying to get some information from her. Or lube her up.

Not bad. My favorite posting from you, I believe. I just hear it in this Gibsonian narrator voice. The density of the prose is what makes this one work so well, to my mind, I believe.

It does sound like Gibson, the way every sentence is burnished to dark luster.

The trick is keeping it going for more than a paragraph, while maintaining coherence and avoiding preciousness.
