It's time for another update on my
Trailer Park Challenge (created by
fuzzy_spork). If you missed the first few updates they can be found here:
Part 1,
Part 2. I was actually going to post this yesterday but then photobucket decided to be a pain so instead you are getting it today.
I have a lot of pictures so I'll be splitting this update into two sections.
Part B can be found here.
At the end of my last pic spam you all picked Ellie Smith as my next heiress by a LANDSLIDE (seriously she got every single vote). So let's find out what happened next!
I like to start off with a look at the lot before playing. We are up to three trailers (well 1 and a double wide). The fenced in area at the back is the family graveyard.
This generation started off with Cocoa giving birth to a new puppy. Maxx on the left is the new puppy's father.
The puppy was a male that I named Buddy.
And Buddy got a really interesting mix of his parent's features when he grew up a few days later.
As for the sims living in the trailers, life is pretty normal for this challenge. Camryn loves to spy through the telescope so she she gets into arguments with the neighbors quite frequently. The teens bring home friends and do a fairly good job of taking care of their needs, even though their aspirations a really low. The one thing they never seem to figure out though is how to sleep in a bed instead of on the couch or in the recliner...
After a few days the birthdays started rolling around. First up was Camryn who aged to elder when none of the rest of the family was paying attention.
Next was the oldest, Sarah, who had the misfortune to age up in the chicken suit and with a low aspiration. Add that to the fact that she didn't get to go to college and the breakdown was pretty much inevitable. I was really hoping she would do the chicken movements in her aspiration failure but she ended up with the gorilla actions instead, which was still pretty funny!
I did feel bad for her though.
She had a want to fall in love so after getting her a change of clothes I sent her out to the wishing well and let her wish for love.
She ended up with Kennedy Grove.
And after falling in love she immediately rolled up the want to get engaged to him. So I let her.
She and Kennedy moved into a little house on the other side of town and had a quiet wedding. Johnny was the only guest and he was only there because he had come as part of the welcome wagon!
Sarah put her family sim twin benefit to good use and the couple had Bailey and Scott.
And Katie followed soon after. You'll see these kids again as they liked to follow their cousins (and ummm...siblings *cough*) home from school.
Sarah also took Maxx with her when she moved out because the dog was glitched and wouldn't eat and it was making me crazy. He seems to have reset and fixed himself on the new lot.
Back on the main lot, knowledge sim Will decided that moving out seemed like a really good idea now that he had his three required scholarships for going to college.
And here he is after a makeover. He'll likely be showing up in the Penguino hood in the future so keep an eye out for him there.
After Will left Johnny decided to throw a party to catch up with his younger siblings and also to introduce Ellie to some potential future spouses or baby daddies.
She and Waylon seemed to get along alright and spent the afternoon having a water balloon fight while everyone else partied inside.
I just love the look on Gertie's face in this picture. She so doesn't care that her mother just caught her drinking out of the punch keg.
The party ran late and the music was on so one of the neighbors that Camryn has annoyed in the past called in a noise complaint. This meant that the police stopped by to break up the party. Johnny figures that made the party a great success!
The next evening it was Gertie's turn to grow up.
And she actually manged to grow up in the green and avoided having a breakdown about missing college as well.
Since I let her older sister wish for love I thought it was only fair that Gertie get to do the same.
Gertie, another family sim, also wanted to get engaged to Troy Carr.
And she was quite happy when he said yes.
Gertie moved out a few minutes later to go move in with Troy.
I think this was the point where Ellie realized that out of all of her siblings she was the one that wasn't going to get to leave.
The house was much quieter with just two teenage girls in it. As spring rolled around Johnny got started on the garden.
Ellie and Annie kept each other entertained.
And Johnny took occasional breaks from gardening and working on restoring cars to play with his daughters.
Then one day all the pesticides that he had been using caught up with him and Johnny became a plant sim.
He immediately decided to spawn a plant baby since the house was so quiet.
And that's how Ivy joined the family.
She's a little bit scary.
Later that afternoon it was time for a double birthday. First Annie aged up in the green.
Though she wasn't very happy about her outfit choice (or the fact that Cocoa back there really needs a bath.)
Ellie aged up next.
And immeidately had a breakdown about not going to college.
I think watching her pseudo-twin act crazy made Annie pretty uncomfortable.
She waited around to make sure the Ellie was okay.
And then she took decided to move out of the house. You might notice that Ellie there has a heart memory above her head.
That's because I let her wish for love as well.
She got Mitch Taylor. And while she liked him pretty well there was another sim who had caught her eye.
And that was Kennedy Grove, her older sister's husband.
Kennedy liked Ellie too but he was already taken so that meant Ellie needed to find someone else to marry.
One of Will's college friends, a boy named Elmer, seemed to be pretty smitten with Ellie.
And he frequently came by to visit and seemed to be working hard to make sure that the rest of Ellie's family liked him.
It was around this time that Ellie realized she was pregnant with Kennedy's baby. And when she told Elmer that she was expecting but the baby's Daddy was out of the picture Elmer told her that he didn't mind.
Ellie fell in love with him at that point and asked me if she could keep him.
So after a date that ended with some woohoo in the family truck...
Ellie asked Elmer to marry her.
And he moved in immidiately after saying yes. He didn't want to give Ellie a chance to change her mind.
A few days after Elmer had moved in it was time for the annual yard sale and also for Ivy to age to adult.
After spending her entire life so far living on the lawn Ivy was ready to experience new things and so she quickly moved out.
Even though Ellie was obviously expecting, Johnny again thought that the house was too quiet.
So he adopted a puppy that the family named Daisy Duke.
Daisy grew into a gorgeous dog a few days later.
But a new puppy wasn't enough so Johnny spawned not one, but two, more plant babies.
Vine and Poplar.
As Ellie's due date drew near, she and Elmer decided to tie the knot to make the baby appear legitimate.
They said their vows not a moment too soon. Elmer had just turned away to get a celebratory drink from the punch keg when Ellie went into labor.
All the guests came running, including Sarah who was pregnant at the time. The presence of her older sister made the ordeal even more stressful for Ellie who didn't want Sarah to know that she had cheated with Sarah's husband.
Fortunately for Ellie the baby had her green skin and alien eyes, making it easy for her to claim that the baby was Elmer's and that he must have a blond recessive (the blond hair being the only visible trait from Kennedy).
Ellie named the little girl Sunny and the baby was quite the hit with the rest of the family.
After the wedding Ellie decided to head down to the local Sim-Mart to purchase a new outfit for herself. While she was there she ran into Makoto Traver, whom she had met through another wishing well drop back before she started dating Elmer. Makoto was very complimentary and Ellie decided that a quick woohoo with him in the photobooth couldn't hurt.
Of course she hadn't realized that Mitch was also shopping at Sim-Mart that day and he was very upset to see his love Ellie cheating on him.
Ellie's sister, Annie, and her Aunt Bobby Jo were rather proud of her though.
Mitch decided to make himself a nusance after that and frequently dropped by the trailer to kick over the trash can and to threaten to tell Elmer that Ellie had cheated on him. Ellie decided the easiest way to take care of Mitch was to buy him off.
And Mitch agreed that he would keep silent and leave her alone...for now.
Ellie soon realized that she was pregnant again and she knew deep down that the baby was Makoto's and not Elmer's.
She really hoped that Makoto's red hair would mean that she could pass the baby off as Elmer's as well.
While Ellie was worrying about what would happen when the next baby arrived, her half-siblings Vine and Poplar aged to adulthood.
And Elmer was there to assist when Sunny aged to a toddler.
With another grandbaby on the way and a precocious toddler to keep track of Johnn decided that it was time that he stopped being a plant sim. There just wouldn't be time for him to take care of any more plant babies.
And after transforming back to a normal sim Johnny said good-bye to Ivy and Poplar as they moved out to explore the rest of the world.
Sunny was the apple of her grandfather's eye and he took it upon himself to teach her most of her skills. He was particularly thrilled when her first word was grandpa.
It wasn't long before Ellie went into labor a second time.
And she was quite relieved when the baby girl arrived with red hair, her alien eyes, and a light skintone. She and Elmer named her Candi.
And Elmer didn't seem to suspect that Candi wasn't actually his.
Ellie figured that she had better ensure that her next baby was actually Elmer's though....

Now before this gets too long I'm going to break it into two parts. Head on over to
Part B to meet the rest of the generation and vote in the heir poll!
But first here are a couple of outtakes from this section:
Johnny's hand glitched when he was trying to paint one of the junk cars and he ended up walking around trailing orange paint for a bit until I sent him back to the car to fix it.
Apparently the skunk will root around in trash that has been left outside. I did not know this! Ellie was lucky that she didn't get sprayed!
