Quarter life crisis? Maybe you've been subject to the same routine for too long, and now's the time to reflect on what you want to do going forward. It's good to take a break (from internet, job or whatever) once in a while to think about what you've achieved thus far and what you want to do in life. It's not healthy to keep all the emotional stress to yourself though. Talk to someone when you feel ready - that should help relieve some of the emotional stress that you are facing

no kidding about that last part. everyone says it would be great to know what you do now but have the same lack of responsibility you did as a child. or at least go back at least a couple years. hah.

But i disagree about Joseph Gordon Levitt and Zooey Deschanel ... i mean I like Joseph and everything, but c'mon Zooey Deschanel is kind of like a current goddess of sorts, at least when it comes to your selection when picking girls out of Hollywood movies. She's got something none of the rest of them really have...

Everyone needs downtime, and I'm glad you're feeling better. If it keeps happening it probably means you need a bigger change, but if not, you're probably fine again now.

Lots of people have written that everyone needs nature for sanity. Maybe a weekend out camping and hiking every month or so? I don't really practice what I preach, but on the other hand Austin has preserved more green space in town than LA, so maybe it's not as necessary here. Heck, maybe hiking through LA's urban parks and people watching would do the trick.

Taxidermia sounds wonderful! Something about those Eastern European ex-Communist intellectuals and their dark, surreal, bodily sense of humor... have you read anything by Andrei Codrescu?

yeah, youre probably right about the mini nature vacations. there are actually forests close to los angeles. i just dont frequent them at all. i might need to change that.

but ive quite enjoyed my trip this past week.
