No, no: I'm proud of *you* for getting a workout in that early in the morning (supposing you're in a time zone near mine)! Something I've never managed--had mine at 7 tonight.
But seriously, if you didn't see the thank-you emblazoned on the Prologue--thank you for encouraging me to come over to lj, it's been a blast already.
Hooray! You're a hero--I'm not known for my capacity to use five words any time I could use 50!
New chapter up probably tomorrow--I won't post it to the comms until next week so's not to spam, so check in when you feel like it (or you could just wait until I post the next 10 and read 'em all at once, 'cause you've got the mojo).
I got into bed two and a half hours ago with the intention of reading a chapter or two of this and then going to bed.
This- wow. You drew me in right off the bat, your prose, your language, the truth- no matter how painful- in every word. I feel gutted right now. This is so lovely and tense and tragic and real. I am so excited to see where you take us next.
Oh man- their house. *gutted* gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous.
Tense! Tragic! Real! Oh, that's wonderful to hear--I've been striving for at least two of those (the tragedy, when it's these guys, just kinda happens whether you like it or not, I think).
The house thing--it was even hard to write. I pity and love Lee; I love and fear Kara (since her bravery and capacity for cruelty seem to come from the same place?). So I think I sometimes forget to let my sympathy for her out of the box. But this chapter's all about that; that house symbolizes a lot of their old wounds, I guess, but particularly hers.
Hi! I have been reading your story at FF.net but I don't have an account there, so I haven't been able to comment. So glad that you are posting your stuff on LJ, too! I've been enjoying this story greatly. I really like your writing style and your insights about Kara and Lee's relationship are so spot-on IMO. These two are so beautiful and poignant, gah! I can't wait to to see what happens next! Keep them coming! :)
