So it turns out that in order to be successful in book publishing, you have to read the entire NY Times bestseller list every year. Fair enough. Now I have to decide if I can stomach spending my time reading endless amounts of Nora Roberts and Mitch Albom. Maybe I'm not cut out for this or maybe I should get over my idealism.

hold onto idealism... mitch albom is a douschbag. but read them anyways... for every roberts and dan brown, there is probably a fantastic jonathan franzen read.
