Two excellent selections by Milan Kundera

(they relate to the use of live journal--or at least everyone wanting to be a writer, I swear)

About a month ago, I finished Milan Kundera's The Book of Laughter and Forgetting.  I loved The Unbearable Lightness of Being, but I loved The Book of Laughter and Forgetting even more.  It's very rare that I end up picking up just one book and reading it ( Read more... )

When I first read that bolded line, I didn't quite understand its significance. I reread it twice when I first came to it - but it failed to make an impression on me.

Now having read that very same line, with added emphasis and with that emphasis added importance to that lines meaning, I understand what Kundera meant. Or, at least I think I do.

Thank you darling, I would like to discuss this topic with you further because my interest in the statement has spiked.
