A new and different cohort
When you move into your fifties (full disclosure: I will be 58 next year), it seems that more and more friends and acquaintances begin to lose their parents. Some already have. The quarterly posting
It does seem like that, unfortunately. I tend to go on jags with one hobby at a time, not always the one you might think, either. This one was knitting till a couple of weeks ago, when I plunged into genealogy for a bit. During the summer, I decided to knit a couple of pairs of socks for my daughter. Housecleaning

Why I Don't Like Painting
The walls in the front hall and in the stairway to upstairs have to be repainted. When we bought the house some 24 (?!) years ago, it was papered in a very nice sturdy off-white paper patterned to look like silk. Eventually it became a little ragged around the edges.
