Your opening paragraph about your crispy finger was quite amusing. I hope it heals good. I dropped a manhole cover on my finger at age 13. I got my hand away just in time before I didn't have a finger anymore. I didn't tell the parents until it got infected. It doesn't look the same.

It seems like Fredya is going to be a surrogate maker for Eric. With some benefits she thinks he'll go for. Well he's taking an awfully long time thinking about it. What would of happened if Pam didn't say anything to Sookie? How long would Eric carry this out before he would have to tell her? I was glad Sookie hung up on Eric.
I hope Pam lets Eric know he's being just like Bill and Quinn.

More great points you have going.

It was such a bad burn, it's going to take ages to heal. I'd just rather it didn't mess with my life so much. Wanting to see what your own finger tastes like is not good.

I'm not sure what you mean by surrogate maker - she'll be his boss in essence, but more up his arse than Felipe would ever be. Freyda wants him to be her Second, so he won't have any real time off, and he'll always be on the phone to her if he's not physically with her.

You can absolutely rely on Eric to do things the arse backwards way. Without Pam, Sookie *still* wouldn't know. All she'd see is Eric backing away slowly just like Bill did. If Eric doesn't have to dob himself in, he just won't. He's really stupid that way. Thank God he has a Pam.

Maybe "maker" isn't the right word for it. I was thinking along the lines that some vampire's maker can control them so much. The way Freyda is going to be controlling Eric's every move. Maybe it should be the ole ball and chain deal.

If Eric just backed away from Sookie the way Bill did...That I think would have been so much worse. If Sookie didn't know and than Fredya came a calling. It's a good thing Sookie knew.

I think working in any ambitious state is the same. Sophie Anne seemed rather content to do her manoeuvring herself (killing Peter), but Felipe works Eric harder than Sophie did. One of the principle issues is that vampires have the market monopoly. Eric can't just choose to quit Felipe's regime and work for the nice vampires - there *are* no nice vampires. He can't stop being a vampire either. Felipe doesn't give him days off - Eric eeks his time off out of his schedule, and sometimes he just doesn't have any.

Pam really saved his behind. Seriously - if Pam wasn't around, Eric would have put his foot in it ages ago. Without Pam, he'd have no relationship with Sookie.

Oh, I know. All those stories have brought me to the same conclusion - that if Eric buggers off, I don't care about him anymore. Not that interested in what he does, or at what point he suddenly drops back out of the sky to tell Sookie he did it all for her/never stopped thinking of her/wouldn't have gone if she'd just thought of him occasionally/ask if she's seen where he put the tie he really likes :D ( ... )

Lol - I'm the same. I don't care what he's been doing. Even if he shows Sookie (common tactic) the tears of a clown. And when he blames her, I just rage quit the entire fic and swear in my head at her. She's like an abused wife - and this is the sort of shit that never works for Bill ( ... )

No, it's an interesting thread that runs through the reviews for fanfiction - Sookie is never allowed to forgive Bill for anything, barely allowed to forgive Quinn (even if he hasn't been turned into a psycho), and should be on her toes around Sam (because you know he kept that whole library secret from her so is totally untrustworthy), and yet the moment Eric shows the slightest hint he might regret what he did, she's exhorted to take him back. It's so weird when you stand back and look at it ( ... )

It is completely weird. Sookie's not supposed to have standards at all. And even worse, she's supposed to look at Bill's actions and condemn him as weak(being forced by the Queen), Quinn's actions and condemn him as weak(being forced by Felipe) but not look at Eric's actions (being forced by Appius and now no longer forced) and feel sorry for him. I think it's just an indication of how unfair people can be and it's kinda disgusting. Eric can crap all over Sookie in fanfic, and they'll still exhort her to beg for more.

Lol - indeed. And she's perfectly situated with all those lovely secluded woods.

I agree - and I note that she got into it with Quinn and did consider Sam more than Alcide just because of the lack of politics. It looks like there's plenty of shifters around. She could always go out on the town with Luna and find a new man.

Oh yes - they look pretty from far away, but up close they're rough little killing machines. I think I'd like the idea of riding on the back of a tiger, like on the cover of Definitely Dead. :D

I definitely agree that if Eric leaves, he's gone for good. Sometimes in romance stories, you see the hero depart towards the end, but at the last second, back he comes. I think if Eric did that to Sookie, she would send him away. I agree that these fanfics with her pining for Eric 10 years later are out of character for Sookie. After she got over her hurt, she might be able to think of the time they had together fondly, but that would be the extent of it. The entire series has consisted of Sookie learning the lesson “fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me ( ... )

I think it's too much of a romance trope to be used. I can't imagine how him leaving would top something like kidnapping or torture. Usually in romance, the biggest drama would be the leaving and coming back, but in CH's books, that definitely wouldn't be. And definitely - that's the perfect lesson of what she's been learning. I don't think if Eric enforced that, he'd be able to come back from it ( ... )

Poor delicious looking finger. And lol - I doubt the audio book would take an hour. Martin's audiobooks? 6 parts, all 9 hours long.

I think she could definitely handle it - I just don't think she'd be on the market for that long at all. Some guy who likes being treated like more than fangs or fur would inevitably pursue her to the ends of the earth. :D And yeah - she limits her sex life to stop entanglements.

Oh yes - definitely - there's nothing attractive about the Alcide/Debbie conflagration. That was where she was headed with Bill too - the breaking up and getting back together. And of course, Bill didn't change, so all the breaking ups were for naught.

Lol - he definitely would. It's just no fun holding a conversation with someone who gives the equivalent answer of "Whatever YOU want, Master". Fanfic Sookie sure can get sickening.
