black birds against a gray sky
a cloud of ever changing shape
i can only watch from inside

first snowfall of the year
watch it from my window
hot tea in hand, nothing on my mind

stuck in an intersection
glad i can't hear the
taxi driver banging and yelling,

joy is the puppy in your truck
wagging and jumping over seats
smiling at everyone out every window

gelled hair, giant headphones
drum on the wheel, yell all the words
shit job, rock out commuting

violin practice mingles
with summer storm sounds
apartment complex evening

Hummus and pitas

chewing gum
the public library
ginger tea

wedge boots
patterned scarves
faux fur coat

NPR in the morning
sunglasses in the afternoon
cats with stripes at night

turbans in my 50's
feather capes in my 60's
and rhinestones in my 70's

I look forward to my older lady fashions an almost indecent amount.

And seemingly several years off of my life, but I have nearly graduated. Already I feel the relief of being away from it all. The relative freedom and personal time are remarkable and new after so long feeling crushed and burdened. We shall see how this progresses.
