what's worth it? moving to NY and consequently having to work harder?

Yeah. You said yourself you sorta wanted the challenging learn-more aspect of a job in NYC anyway. And your out-of-work hours would probably revolve less around boozing with aging Eurotrash. Not to mention the weather's better and the dollar goes further than the pound. And we have better food!!!! and fantastic supermarkets!! (well you have to live near one of them I suppose.) as far as I can see, it's a win-win both on the career and the life fronts. Not to mention that New Yorkers are nice friendly people. (really!)

hmmm...you're making a good sell for NY here yah know. maybe it's where i should be, given how alarmingly often random images of NY are popping up in my mind these days.

but then what would my life in NY be like without the aging Eurotrash? :P i don't have too many friends there 'sides from you and Jan. and i'd have to make friends from scratch since i didn't go to school in the US. and i don't wanna end up hanging out with the singapore posse in NY either.

eh, write me an email! it's been a while since i last "chatted" with you properly...

come to ny! there's a certain alive vibe about the place that no other city has. but on the other side, any job that makes you stay long hours in the office in a big city is bound to make you develop feelings of loneliness. so is wandering in the streets of a busy city when you're tired and dazed and cold, and the traffic is zooming by, and you're alone.

that's just life. *big hug* hang in there, and come visit me next year!
