I find Jan to early Feb pretty shitty - basically, until it's light until 5pm I may as well not be alive some years. I don't mind the mornings...it's the feeling like I want to be asleep from 4pm that gets me.

I don't much like January, it always seems so flat after December. There have been some lovely crystal bright mid-mornings this month, but you'd have been slaving over a hot keyboard.

I think tidying/sorting might help, though. One of the good things to come out of last year's fiasco is that all the stuff I have now is stuff I actually want. I got rid of quite a bit more when I unpacked, too, even stuff I thought I was sentimentally attached to. Marley's chains, the lot of it.

I'm also in a pissing mood because I don't think I've been recalled for the play I most wanted to do.

Carpets, indeed! I am buying a big rug.

(My mum confirmed my suspicions that laminate flooring was going the way of woodchip wallpaper when she replace her living room carpet with the stuff. Unsuitable!)

Booze is rubbish.
Cards are silly.

I quite agree! I am keeping my laminate though it suits my flat (bare boards would make it look smaller), but it does need a big rug on one bit of it (and yes Heeno I know they slip but I don't think that'll be a prob in my place and if it is I'll get one of those sticky underlay things, ALWAYS THINKING see!)
