sick kitty

Our Russian blue 8-month-old kitten, Shadow, has been very ill for the last three days. Shadow was taken to the pet urgent care last night and the Vet discovered that he had eaten thread, which had wrapped around part of his intestines. Luckily he wasn't fully obstructed so he didn't need a resection, but he did have surgery last night. We were up ( Read more... )

That poor kitty. Thank goodness they figured out what was wrong, and were able to help him. A long, scary night for all. Hope you're getting some rest today. Good luck with Shadow.

Poor Shadow...man you need this on top of everything else like a hole in the head?

I had a similar situation with a cat that swallowed a rubber band along with a length of magnetic recording tape ( from the days of mini cassettes) luckily an enema solved it instead of surgery. Since then my home has been rubberband, ribbon, tape and anything thing along that line free.

Hard to prevent threads though.

I think he may have gotten into my bobbins. I keep the door to my room shut (I live with my daughter) but there's always the possibility a thread was on my pants leg or something.

The vet is keeping him overnight tonight.
