It is a beautiful passage, and the image of Paul as an offering, like incense on the altar.

I used the King James version - but modern versions have
6 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure.
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day--and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

I also like that it is inclusive - not just for me, but all of s.
Drop me a line and let me know how you are doing.

That is a beautiful passage that speaks of courage and contentment for one in God's service in the face of death, or what otherwise appears to be a bad ending.

It was the line "I have fought the good fight" which speaks to my situation. I have been ill for years. I don't expect to die right away, unless I am hit by a bus, but I thought it was beautiful.

Reading this, just moments after learning of Susan's death, I am deeply moved. Clearly her spirit resonated with these beautiful words, perhaps because, at some level, she knew they were true for her. She was ready, had fought a good fight, had kept the faith, and was now ready to be offered back to God.

We all have been blessed to know her.

I too just read this and now it almost seems like she knew her time was short; especially when one reads her comment she made on 5/24 in response to romanse1.

So sad.
