[No written response for you. You get voice instead. And it's very hesitant.]

...oh?

[Fine. Fine, you wanna play it that way? Okay.]

Yeah. I'm sure you'll find it as interesting as I did.

[Oh he knows he's probably busted.]

I'm not quite sure I catch what you mean, but I think as long as other people see them as real, they're real.

[Also, hello there, Roxas. Okita met Ventus earlier and is now very, very curious about the two of you.]

Well I mean...[Roxas stops to think of how to articulate this. He's tapping his pencil on the paper and Okita can probably see the marks on the page as he thinks. And, well, this is going to be interesting considering.]

But there have to be some differences between real people and fake people, right? Like...how do you know if a person really exists, or if they're just something that's around to mess with your head?

Wouldn't a fake person not exist to anyone else then if they were just there to cause you trouble? I'm not quite sure a person can be fake unless their identity is constructed out of lies.

Maybe not. But how is it possible for a person to look almost exactly like somebody else?

[That's a weird question.]

If you have your own thoughts, I'm pretty sure that makes you real.

...I guess it's only up to the person to decide whether they're real or not.

I wasn't exactly asking about me. [Though that's a good point, thanks Cloud.]

What if you're created from somebody else? Are you still real then?

Doesn't matter. You still have thoughts that are only yours, and memories that are only yours. Even if you think you're somebody else, or someone tries to convince you you're someone else, you're still your own person.

...what about if you share somebody else's memories too? Or if you look like somebody else who's not you?

[...pfff Ted. That answer did make Roxas crack a grin at least.]

Yeah, not exactly. [But this is good. He was hoping to talk to Ted anyway ever since Ventus mentioned him.]

Have you met anybody that seemed...unusual lately?

Unusual in the way of mistaking somebody else for me. [Well. Might as well be up-front about this.]

[An odd question, but-] Do you affect and interact with the world and people around you?

Reply

perplex_me November 8 2010, 08:24:36 UTC
All people in question do, yeah. Why?

falenandawn November 8 2010, 08:33:11 UTC
Then the person is real. If they can affect others- make friends and memories with people, or make a difference in the world, then they must be real right?

At least, I'd like to think so.

What about if they can be just as easily destroyed as easily as they were made? Or what about if they're not really a whole person? What about then?
